What is asylum?

Asylum is not a choice!

It is a request for asylum by individuals who have experienced or are likely to experience violations of the human rights in the country they live in.

UN Commissions prepare periodic reports on human rights-related violations in various countries. These reports have been identified as important sources for refugee law. For example, reports on violence against women are taken into account by those who evaluate the asylum request when a woman seeks asylum in another country. The Conventions and regulations bind people to seek asylum as a right so that they can live in a safe country.

Asylum is a right. It is a right that people can use for known or unknown reasons that they can share or not share with people.

Reasons for Asylum

  • Age

  • Language

  • Religion

  • Belief

  • Idea

  • Colour

  • Race

  • Disability status

  • Gender

  • Sexual Choices

  • Gender Selection

  • Family status-marital status

  • Inability to benefit jointly from common opportunities such as housing, living, work, education

  • Being exposed to DISCRIMINATION,

Being exposed to life-threatening decisions and behaviours are sufficient grounds for asylum. Being discriminated against by the society, community or state in any of the aforementioned areas is a sufficient source for asylum. However, this discrimination alone is not sufficient for asylum. At the same time, it is a criterion that takes into account whether individuals have the opportunity to live in an area other than where they are located.

It is also an accepted detail that people with a request for protection or asylum should not go to the countries they are protected for throughout their lives.

As it's a very detailed subject, you can get consultation from us in order to discuss your situation!
